Hey babes, it's Kristina!
I am so excited to share my favorite places to dine, grab drinks and take photos at the Halcyon Forsyth. Sadie and I went to Halcyon for a content outing and while we were there, we explored the best places to take photos allowing us to tour the area and get a good idea of where we would eat and drink with friends and loved ones on the weekend.
Ocean & Acre
One of the first restaurants I noticed was Ocean & Acre. Ocean & Acre has an amazing back patio flooded with white flowers and an “expensive beach town” vibe (think of Martha’s Vineyard.) I immediately knew this would be the perfect place to take content images for the Jen & Co. instagram. Luckily, this restaurant does not open until 4:00 p.m. on the weekdays, so Sadie and I were able to take our time on the back patio without bothering anyone. Although this is the perfect place to take instagram photos, the food might be even better. If you are an oyster lover like me, this is a must-try restaurant. I would suggest the calamari and peel and eat shrimp as an appetizer and the house oysters as an entree. Pro tip: ask what the regional oyster feature is as it changes every so often and is always fun to try! I paired the scenery and aesthetics with our Jolee Neoprene Crossbody in light grey/white. I love the way this bag looks with the beachy aesthetic, and not to mention that Jolee would be the perfect beach bag as it is washing machine safe due to the neoprene material.
Cherry Street BrewPub
The Cherry Street Brewpub at Halcyon is in the perfect location, right in the middle of it all and in front of the grass lawn where you can sit and hangout with friends. They even sometimes have concerts on the lawn which makes Cherry Street perfect for a Friday or Saturday night hangout. Although it is a brewery, they also serve really good pub-style food. I love heading over on a Saturday with my fiancé for some sliders and beer (my favorite is the pimento cheese slider.) Cherry Street has created a very relaxed, family friendly atmosphere, while still offering an adult only brewhouse bar for those who are looking for a different vibe. In the image, Sadie is sitting on a bench outside of Cherry Street showing off the Athena tote. I love Athena as it has just the right amount of netting details to achieve a summer aesthetic. Athena also features an inner bag that comes with an adjustable crossbody strap.
HobNob Neighborhood Tavern
Right across the lawn from Cherry Street is HobNob Neighborhood Tavern. We mostly stopped here to take images on the really interesting sidewalk, but quickly realized that this would be a great “date night'' option. HobNob offers tavern food with a southern flair - sounds interesting, right? Along with really good food, the restaurant itself is 5,000 + square feet with a two story patio and rooftop bar. You can always count me in if there is a rooftop bar! Pro tip: make sure you check online for their weekly specials. They have a “thirsty thursday” where you can expect $5 moscow mules and trivia every tuesday! This is a restaurant I would go to and stay for a while, especially at the rooftop bar! I would need a purse that isn’t going to “hold me back.” Sadie is wearing the Riley crossbody in white in the image above. Riley would be an easy bag to carry around as it has just enough room for your necessities (wallet, keys and phone), can be worn as a crossbody which allows you to be hands-free and has a detachable crossbody strap which allows you to use Riley as a clutch or wristlet.
Sweet Tuna
Sweet Tuna is a quick-bite restaurant in the Market Hall building at Halcyon. This building has multiple walk-up restaurants similar to a food court at a mall. The Market Hall includes Sweet Tuna, Gu’s Dumplings (which I am dying to try), Pita Mediterranean Street Food and CT Al Pastor. I chose to eat at Sweet Tuna because I am obsessed with Poke. Seriously, I could have poke every day and not get tired of it. I would suggest adding the yum-yum sauce on top of your poke bowl - so good.
I love the idea of these walk-up restaurants! I saw so many working people walk over to the Market Hall on their lunch break - If Jen & Co. was walking distance from the Halcyon, I am sure I would be doing the same thing. If I were able to walk over for lunch everyday, I think a backpack would be the best option. One of my favorite backpacks to use from Jen & Co. is the Toryn backpack. I personally love the clear bag trend, and it makes it so easy to find your wallet and phone.
Overall, I really enjoyed exploring the Halcyon. I found multiple restaurants and shops that I plan to come back to on a Saturday with my friends, family or fiancé.
xoxo,
Kristina
